joy in dempseyville
well the roster for the US World Cup team was announced yesterday and that sort of thing is exciting for me. With the names in hand you can now spend some time thinking up lineups and formations that will best counter the strengths of Italy, Czech Republic and Ghana. Feel free to post your predicted lineups as you get them finalized.

Your favorite rapper, Clint Dempsey, made the squad from the Revs while 4 others were named as alternates. 3 of the 4 were long shots, but Revs forward Taylor Twellman was widely considered a lock to make the team. His exclusion is an enormous disappointment and I will be surprised if his play for the Revs does not decline sharply, as he adjusts to the reality that he was passed over for the squad. The MLS season doesn’t break while the World Cup is under way, so he’ll be watching the games from Germany as he tries to focus on the MLS matches each week. I just don’t see that going too well. Of course there’s an outside chance that one of the forwards on the main roster will be injured in the coming months and Twellman could be called up from the alternates roster.

The rod rack is back on the Jeep which means it’s fishing time!

And in case any of you were looking for a tv show which is more offensive (and funnier) than Drawn Together, may I humbly suggest MTV2's Wonder Shozen. Mirroring the South Park concept of funny Content Advisory messages to start the show, this one ends with the blunt but truthful declaration that “If you allow a child to watch this show, you are a bad parent or guardian.”
